I have a special treat for you U.S. readers! A giveaway of three free downloads of Vegan Delish, “one of the top 15 Paid Food & Drink apps in the App Store”! All recipes are vegan and gluten free and look absolutely delicious!
Below is the home screen of this app. As you can see, it not only includes recipes, but it allows you to create a shopping list of the recipes you want to make with the touch of a button, plus a section to easily access your favorites and a way to easily sort recipes into categories like “breakfast” and “low-sodium.” There’s even a category for you to easily find the new recipes that are automatically added with each new update.
Plus, look how pretty and no-nonsense it is! I love straight-forward apps, don’t you?
The recipe section is just as simple as the home screen. You can see it on the left of the picture below. All you see is pictures of delicious-looking food with the name of the recipe under it. Then all you do is tap the picture of the most mouthwatering recipe and it opens into the screen on the right of the below shot with an overview of the recipe and tabs for ingredients, etc. Easy as Marionberry Ice Cream Pie!
Even the recipes are easy, which isn’t always easy to do with vegan or gluten free recipes. The gluten free baked good recipes (yes, it has those, too!) don’t call for five different kinds of obscure flours!
Vegan Delish is perfect as we approach fall if you are worried about making easy and healthy after-school snacks and meals, like pizza on Cauliflower Pizza Crust, or holiday recipes, like Vegan Egg Nog!
And if you’re not already salivating, here’s a tasty sample for you, courtesy of Carrie Forrest from carrieonvegan.com. The perfect muffin for your fall breakfast table!
Pumpkin Spice Muffins

- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 cups garbanzo bean flour
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon flax meal
- 1/2 cup raisins

- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk

1. Preheat oven to 350° F (180°C) and lightly coat a 12-well muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Chop walnuts and place in a large bowl. Add flour, pumpkin pie spice, flax meal, and raisins. Stir to blend.
3. In a high-speed blender, combine dates, pumpkin puree, vanilla, non-dairy milk, and applesauce. Process on high for 1 minute.
4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir to blend. Distribute mixture evenly among the wells and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden on top. Set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes before gently removing muffins.
